WTN: Corrison and Porter Creek

2008 Corrison Kronos Cabernet. I am such a moron. This wine got a little hot. Poor storage led to a little cork seepage. I am such an idiot.

NONETHELESS... the fruit from this vineyard is just so beautiful. Pure and piercing cassis fruit, wonderful acidity, just an amazingly balanced wine. The flaw that showed up was a little clipped metallic note on the finish. I need to find better storage...my "collection" had dwindled last year to the point that I cancelled my storage locker.

Other than that, it was a wonderful wine, even at this very young age (for Kronos).

2010 Porter Creek Hillside Old Vines Pinot Noir. After about an hour, this was a WOW wine. Wonderful balanced fruit, not too sweet at all. Lovely piercing acidity that really was mouthwatering

I have a few Corrisons sleeping in the cellar (cellar temp 60, BTW) but the only ones I've ever tasted were in the barn at the winery. I have high expectations after reading your WTN.

BTW, IMO, anyone who calls them self an idiot cannot, by definition, be one.

LOL. Not going to let myself off that easily!
Acknowledging problems without making changes is not enough. :?
