Sunday Chat

by James Roscoe » Sun Oct 27, 2013 12:03 pm

Another Sunday during "real" football season. The English used the term soccer in the earliest references to that sport. In any event, I may be here or I may be watching Peyton picking apart my team's defense. Y'all are welcome to come at your own pace. Here are the times when the fun gets started: at 4 p.m. Eastern Time; 3 p.m. Central Time; 2 p.m. Mountain Time; 1 p.m. Pacific Time; 9 p.m. in the UK; 10 p.m. in Italy, France, Germany, and Sweden; 11 p.m. in Finland and Israel; 11 a.m. Monday in Sydney and environs; and 9 a.m. Monday in New Zealand. I believe these are all corrected for standard time changes. If I am off, let me know. Please let me know when the time changes your neck of the woods so I remember to make the appropriate changes.

The fun starts HERE!!!!!

Since the American "football" in reality neither is much about feet nor about using a ball, I heard the interesting suggestion today to instead use the term "handegg" for the American variety. Quite a brilliant suggestion, IMHO!

In Europe daylight saving time ended today, so for us chat starts at 9 pm today. If I am correctly informed, from next weekend, when you fall back too, chat goes back to 10 pm for us again.

Hope to see you there!

If anyone else wants to post these times I am willing to give this job up!

Soccer is the historical name for the game played with the black and white ball. Football is the historical name for the American game derived from Rugby. I don't see where logic enters into the discussion. BTW I read this on the internet so it MUST be true!!!!

I am watching FOOTBALL this afternoon and this evening. Have fun in chat.
