I saw this at Costo for $11 and thought I'd give it a try. I'm glad I did. This is a Baron Philippe De Rothschild wine from the Maipo region of Chile.
Floral scents mixed with smokey peppered beef and dusty black cherries. The tannins are drying, but not oppressive, letting through a taste of black cherries mixed with a hint of anise. There is a lingering finish is sligthly tart red and black fruit, mixed with clean garden dirt. An interesting blend of 58% Cabernet Sauvignon, 27* Carmenere, 8% Cabernet Frank, 7% Syrah. Excellent with char-grilled NY strip. Buy again? You bet!
