Tried this last night w/ my BLT:
1. Radio-Coteau Syrah LasColinas/SonomaCoast (U/U; 428 cs; 14.6%; www.RadioCoteau.com) 2008: Dark color w/ slight bricking; strong blackberry/Syrah some peppery/cold-climate slight Rhonish/roasted/olie tapenade/smokey rather toasty/smokey/pencilly/oak quite complex lovely nose; fairly tart strong Syrah/blackberry/peppery/spicy/rosemary rather toasty/pencilly/oak/smoky complex flavor w/ slight drying/astringent tannins; very long/lingering somewhat tart cold-climate/peppery/blackberry/Syrah rather toasty/smokey/pencilly/oak slight Rhonish/roasted/smokey finish w/ light drying/astringent tannins; a lovely complex mature balanced example of cold-climate Syrah but starting to dry out a bit; drink up.

A wee BloodyPulpit:
1. EricSussman makes some mighty-fine examples of cold-climate Syrah at Radio-Coteau; but doesn't seem to get a whole lot of recognition. Alas, I haven't been buying them since he quit making the vonWeislich Zin. Fortunately, he is now making one again. Alas, I dawddled and missed out on the recent release of it.
