2005 Domaine Henri Gouges Nuits St. Georges
From half bottle this is drinking rather well. It's still quite fruity, but has developed a few earthy & leathery (the good kind) nuances to make it more than just a good quaff. Lots of depth here, so no worries about continued cellaring to wait for further complexity.

Always nice to hear good things about a Gouges drinking well, and especially from 05!

Nice to read this as I have 2 left. A 750 I opened several months ago was not very giving, and I blamed it on the vintage. I opened a 2005 Ecard Serpentieres last night, that was hard, but I'll check on the remainder of it later today. I'm anxious for the 2005s to begin opening, so I keep trying.
