Hallo everybody!

by Roberto Vigna » Tue Sep 03, 2013 10:52 am

My name is Roberto Vigna, I am 51 and I live in Torino, Italy.
Maybe someone remember my name, I was a regular on these pages about in 2000-2004.
I had the pleasure to meet our janitor Robin Garr and others twice, both in Piedmont and Alsace.

I love all the wine, but I especially drink piedmontese wine, wine from Sicily (especially Etna) and, superstar in my cellar, Riesling, both from Alsace and Germany.
Northern Riesling is almost unknown in Italy, so I have to go to Alsace (beautiful place for holidays) about once a year and I am a regular member of an italian “buying group” for german Riesling (top names!).

Torino is one hour by car to Langhe and Monferrato (where my family comes from) and to north Piemonte nebbiolo wines such as Ghemme, Lessona, Gattinara, Carema and others.

I often go to Sicily (two hours by plane), where my girlfriend lives, and in these past years I had beautiful wine experiences in the Etna zone. Excellent wines and beautiful landscapes.

So, excuse me for my so-and-so english, I will try to write some TNs even if it will be hard (I’m out of exercise).

Roberto

Welcome back, Roberto! It is good to see you again, and Mary and I still fondly remember our tours around Northern Italy. In fact, I think it was with you in Alba where we first discovered the joys of pasta with hot butter and fresh sage.

Roberto,
Please, excuse our so-and-so English, too.
Welcome back.
Best, Jim

Roberto! How good to see you again.

Hi Robin!

The best use for hot frizzling butter and sage is with "ravioli del plin" burro e salvia, a must from Langhe. Yumm!
