WTN: Wine for Dunhammies

2004 Boudreaux Cellars Cabernet Sauvignon
Blackberries and herbs. A more savory entrant than the Dunham we compared it to, with Bordeauxish intentions that are obvious in the glass, but though it's tasty enough the extra layers that even many of the lower-rent Bordeauxs have just aren't here. Another CT reviewer mentioned secondary nuances but I didn't find the kind I hope for in a wine that's maturing gracefully vs. a wine that's merely going to fade away, as so many Washington reds to. Hope I'm wrong, of course--I like the guy who made the wine and like what he wants to achieve.

2004 Dunham Cellars Cabernet Sauvignon Artist Series Lewis Vineyard
Juicy, concentrated, forward-reaching new world Cabernet with ripe black currant, black cherry, pomegranate, cedar and smoke. A real extrovert in the glass, especially for the vintage, with leathery notes developing. Drinks well now, probably approaching or in peak drinking window but should hold and or improve here for a few years to come.
My wine shopping and I have never had a problem. Just a perpetual race between the bankruptcy court and Hell.--Rogov
