Arrufiac? This might stump some of you!

Just opened a 2011 Producteurs Plaimont Saint-Mont Blanc Les Vignes Retrouvees. Blend of Gros Manseng, Petit Corbu and Arrufiac, good natural cork, 13.5% alc, $17 Cdn.

Medium straw in colour, green BC apple on the nose, citrus, some ripe grapefruit, some appealing white stonefruits.
Initial entry thought is dry with just a brief splash of residual sugar. Medium bodied good length, always find these S France whites right up my street! "Nice citrus here" from across the table so fair acidity indeed. Peach springs to mind, herby and good compliment with pork scallopini and cream sauced penne. The fruits are not exotic and flavor is not at all creamy in my opinion. Good price, will go back for more.

Thank you for the note, Bob. I had this wine several years ago, and it was a bargain back then. Would definitely buy it if I see it in the future.

A few other SW French appellations - Pacherenc du Vic-Bilh, Irouleguy, etc. - sometimes have Arrufiac in their blends, along with the Courbus and Mansengs. Also note that Arrufiac is not the same grape as Raffiat de Moncade.
