I think it's all Jacquere, but Mondeuse might be in there as well. Very clean, hardly any leesiness. I expected slightly more acidity from this grape and region, but it's almost creamy and has much more fruit than I was ready for. That said, it's friggin' delicious! The fruit is of yellow apple and pear with a little dried pineapple. The bubbles explode on impact with your palate instead of drilling in, and it makes for an exciting and lively finish. I don't detect any red fruit, which for me eliminates Mondeuse in the blend. There's something faintly citrus buzzing around as well. I like still wines from Savoie (and Pierre Boniface) quite a bit, but this is a little too friendly to be put in the same class as my favorite other non-Champagne French sparklers; Cremant d'Alsace or Cremant de Loire. 12% alc. $15
Prost!
