WTN: 2002 Trimbach Riesling Cuvee Frederic Emile

by Diane (Long Island) » Sun Jul 28, 2013 2:58 pm

Fresh as can be, but I had to work hard to remove the sticky cork, and reached for my Ah So. The nose teases with honey, pear, and grapefruit skin. I keep returning for another sniff-I find it intoxicating. The palate is razor sharp, and doesn't give anything away. I have to focus and concentrate on what's there. Tart citrus explodes on the palate, but not one fruit dominates. It's an amalgam of several with hints of petrol. Refreshing with tonight's grilled fish that has a little heat from crushed red pepper. Reports of oxidized CFE reminded me that I had a couple and should check it out. This one is alive and well.

The 2002 has been open and delicious since release. A stunning CFE.
