I liked the Kongsgaard wines quite a lot, but gave up on the when the pricing got so high. I was first attracted to the Syrah...but didn't find it sufficiently distinctive to be worth the $$'s. Didn't hold a candle to a Lagier-Meredith. It (and the Lewis) was what epitomized to me what's wrong w/ Up-Valley NapaVlly Syrah.

at one time i sold newton wines and worked one day with john. a gentleman if ever there was one and very informative. also a great music patron. people like him make you love what you do. aside: he would try to work the traverse city area so he could visit larry mawby and pick up some of his vignoles aged in new french oak. he would serve blind to his wine buddies in napa. a great wine no longer made.
