2012 Masciarelli, Rosato Colline Teatine, IGT ($11.99 U.S., Alcohol level 12.5%). Although from the same region, this one is lighter than a Cerasuolo. Never-the –less it is a delightful wine. It has a deep rose color with bright notes of rose petals and raspberries on the nose and upfront. In the middle were crispness, more berries, and some tart cherries. All followed by a lovely finish.

We matched it with penne in basil pesto, broiled Italian sweet sausages with fennel bulb, and sliced tomatoes.
