- 2005 Joseph Drouhin Moulin-à-Vent - France, Burgundy, Beaujolais, Moulin-à-Vent (11/27/2006)
Light purple. The nose is very primary and fruity and isn't estery/banana-like/bubblegummy (gladly!), but is true Beaujolais in character: raspberry, damp earth, cherry. The palate is ripe and fruity and shows a "sunny" character. The tannins and acidity are perfectly balanced and keep the wine fresh and lively. Very moreish. What a nice wine! - 2005 Schloss Gobelsburg Grüner Veltliner Renner - Austria, Niederösterreich, Kamptal, Langenlois (11/27/2006)
Surprisingly golden colour - much darker than expected. A mineral nose with lots of fruit and all the typical GV aromas. The palate is rather full bodied, but very mineral and it has fine acidity to back up the huge amounts of ripe fruit. What a tasty wine!
