10 Span Vineyards???

by TomHill » Mon Jul 08, 2013 8:07 pm

Anybody know anything about this CentralCoast operation???
10SpanVineyards

I noticed their ad in my recent TonyBlue Tasting magazine that I receive. It's probably the lamest wine publication I receive. I read it primarily for the pics of hot chicks and cool dudes, all trying to out-hot and out-cool others ITB. And to keep track of all the goings-on at the highest levels of Southern Wine&Spirits. And see what the ultra-hip Professors of Mixology are creating. But every once in awhile, I'll stumble across something that piques my interest, like this.
Curious as to if this is a Gallo venture or the people behind that label.

Awww....Bob.....didn't realize you were into cleavage/tatoos/punk hairdos. You're more hip than I thought!!! :-)
Google "Anthony Dias Blue wine tasting magazine" & you'll get the on-line version.

Tom has it right, this is typical for the magazine. Think of it as a wholly owned subsidiary of whatever alcohol producer is willing to pony up advertising bucks.

If you click and look at other sample pages, if you zoom you can read a typically insightful ADB piece on the wine industry. Yes, he devotes an entire column to bemoaning a trade tasting where they printed wines and prices on a single sheet- they didn't give him a tasting notes sheet. Shocking! Though I might have liked to read the Badoit article, one of my favorite waters.

CT has one 10Span wine listed, a 2010 Chardonnay. With one (really confusing ) TN:
Apple and cantaloupe nose, citrus and creamy on the palate, fairly balanced. We drank the pinot gris, but this ap says Chardonnay.. It is 70% chardonnay grape.
