WTN: 2012 Muga Rioja Rose'

by JC (NC) » Mon Jul 08, 2013 6:46 pm

13% abv. Quite pale rosy pink. Tart citrus and berries. Crisp and inviting. Tasted blind, I would not peg this as Tempranillo. I liked how it paired with a rich potato and bacon chowder. I'm faltering in trying to describe this wine but want to convey that I enjoyed it and have also liked past vintages. I think, however, the Le Pont Bandol rose' in June remains my favorite rose' of the summer so far. I have not had any rose' from Pinot Noir yet.

A wonderful and very consistent summer wine. Perfect outside with simple munchies.

This is also great for grilled hot dogs and hamburgers!
