2007 Dönnhoff Niederhäuser Hermannshöhle Riesling Großes Gewächs - Germany, Nahe (6/30/2013)
This is drinking very well right now, but it has time in hand. There is still a great deal of stone fruit, and it is married to a subtle spice and a hint of smoke. There is fantastic richness (it nearly feels thick in texture), and also fine cut to keep the wine from feeling heavy. The finish is all about stones and smoke and lingers for as long as you care to wait. Drinking this wine now is a delicious experience, and I would not miss it. That said, there is little fear in cellaring longer, as the fruit is still strong and in balance with all the other elements of the wine.
