Yecla.

A blend of Monastrell-Merlot-Cabernet Sauvignon.

Spicy, smoky, red licorice nose, becoming deep, tarry and plummy with time.

A tale of two wines really.

A first: tart cherry fruit, tart acidity, a nice smoky and spicy tang, a little hot.

With time, the wine grew in proportion, becoming richer and deeper, the fruit turning tarry, with hints of dark chocolate and the weight of the wine appearing to increase. Interesting.

A drying, tannic, slightly bitter finish.

Pretty good price at $10.95 Canadian.
