A couple nice pinot which are bearing their age quite well:
1998 Stone Wolf Margaret, Willamette Valley: Deep black-ruby to a red-orange edge. Firm and concentrated with prominent mineral tones over dark cherry/kirsch and old leather on the nose. Rich, mineral laden entry to a broad center of dried dark cherry fruit and loamy earth, drying quickly and closing a bit, full-bodied and showing a reserve of black cherry which carries gracefully though the moderate finish. 5/25/13
2002 Testarossa Brosseau Vineyard, Chalone: Bright pale vermillion to a red-orange edge. Shy red cherry fruit laced with chalk, light mineral accents on the nose. Warm, generous entry to a broad center of fairly tightknit red cherry and red berry fruit with broad accents of earth and mineral, firm and finely balanced, medium in weight with good viscosity, easing through a moderate to long consistent finish. Its freshness belies its ten-plus years. 5/23/13
Cheers to Linda Lindsey and Bill Brosseau on these two fine wines!
