WTN: Robert Mondavi Cabernet Sauvignon Reserve 2003

Had this at lunch today with a burger. Close to four years since I last had this. I let it sit in the glass about 45 minutes before trying it.

Mint, chocolate and spice on the nose. Sweet plum and cherry, cocoa powder, mocha and a little earth on the palate. Could probably use a few more years as softer tannins would be desirable. Although the fruit is very ripe, it stops just short of overripe. Full and rich with a fine acidity keeping it from being flabby. Lovely, complex wine. This is coming along very nicely. Good length. Outstanding. Youthful and not yet at peak. Try again in 5 years but if you want to drink it now, keep it in the decanter for at least an hour.
Three be the things I shall never attain:
Envy, content, and sufficient champagne.
