The HoseMaster on "The Feiring Squad"

Brilliant satire and parody from one of the most irreverent of winebloggers.

Devotees of "Natural Wine. TM" may be irate on reading this.

****ing priceless: “Our wines are natural,” The Feiring Squad declared, “and we have the marketing material to prove it..."

And this: "a winemaker just needs blind devotion to non-intervention and a really gullible mailing list."

Funny, but sophomoric, too. I laugh at the HoseMaster, sometimes, but I don't really admire him/her/it. Cheap shots, at the end of the day, are still cheap.

The natural wine "movement" and it's self appointed shamans have earned a few cheap shots. Ok, more than a few.

Probably true. I don't really follow Alice, but at the same time I'm more likely to enjoy a Dressner wine than a Siduri. Does that make me a naturalist?

I guess that I'm in the minority here, but I didn't actually find this post to be very funny at all. Perhaps the humor was just too broad to appeal to me. And I couldn't shake the feeling that his Rapture was referring, perhaps obliquely, to the death of Marcel Lapierre last year, not an event that inspires much humor.

Nope. Just scopes your tastes.

I happen to like both extremes depending on the occasion.

And frankly, Siduri is not really a poster child for the other end of the spectrum - far from it.

Maybe the fact that I think of it that way suggests that I am a Naturalist.
