2007 Hexamer Schlossböckelheimer In den Felsen Riesling Spätlese - Germany, Nahe (5/11/2013)
Time is doing great favors to this wine, as some of the baby fat is dropping off, revealing a bit more spine. Red fruit and peaches with a stony, minerally core. It is still quite sweet, so it is sensitive to pairings (very good with a spicy Chinese chicken dish).

2010 Chester's Anvil Malbec - USA, California, Napa Valley, Mt. Veeder (5/11/2013)
Initially started out with a bit of a burn, but after being open for about 30 minutes it really fleshed out with tons of ripe (not jammy) blackberry fruit and a pleasing core of tannin. Quite easy to drink once it got that bit of air!
