Tried this Wed night w/ our BD cake dessert:
1. Yalumba Semillon BotrytisAffected BarossaVlly (11.0%; SaH: 33.4%; RS: 13.1%; "GourmetSeries") 1984: Med.dark brown color; some botrytis/apricotty/peach syrup bit dusty slight maderized light toasty/coconutty/caramel almost Malmsey-like rather complex nose; tart fairly sweet some botrytis/apricotty/peach syrup quite caramel/butterscotch/toasted coconut/ZagNut bar slight dusty bit maderized complex flavor; very long slightly sweet butterscotchy/caramel/toasted coconut slight botrytis/apricotty complex finish; more like a Malmsey than anthing w/o the high acidity; quite an interesting dessert wine.

A wee BloodyPulpit:
1. Usually these old Oz Sauternes are nothing but loads of botrytis/apricotty character. The botrytis on this one was pretty subdued. More like a Malmsey Madeira or an old Italian passito than an old Sauternes. Nonetheless quite tasty & good.
