Thanks in advance,

Wow, cuz!! Your probation officer is finally cutting you some slack! I still have to bathe with one leg hanging out of the tub because of that blamed transponder attached to my ankle. Geez, you get all the breaks.

I can't help with reccos, but I do want you to have fun and be sure to take plenty of pictures.

I am in Nashville every few months and thankfully things are looking better for food. Here is a short list.

Margot Cafe http://www.margotcafe.com/home.htm Great stuff but make reservations and get good directions. It is on the East side. On the loud side.

Tayst http://tayst.info/ Good stuff. Fun menu. Good service.

Zola http://restaurantzola.com/ Can be great but lately it has been a bit hit and miss. Never bad though. This used to be my favorite. Just make sure Debra Paquette is cooking the night you go.

Sunset Grill http://www.sunsetgrill.com/ Used to be one of the few good places. Hippster atmosphere. Good food but I find it a little overdone. Lacking restraint. Still....reliable.

There are some other places. Where are you staying?

Thank you, Jason!!
I'll be staying at the Sheraton Music City Hotel, which is approx. 5.5 miles from the center of Nashville, or so they say. I'm game to try just about anything from local cuisine and music, to something upscale. I have printed out your suggestons and will Mapquest them.
Really appreciate the reccos. I'll be sure to report back.

Thanks!

Cuz! You bathe now? We'll have to put you back on the invite list for family reunions! 8)

Yeah, ever since they got me that anatomically correct bottle of Mrs. Bubble, I can't stay out of the tub.

By the way, I got me a sour cream pound cake bakin' in the oven. Can you smell it?
And now what?

Cool. Everthing is pretty easy to get to. For music you can always check out the legendary http://www.bluebirdcafe.com Mike Henderson on Monday nights is amazing.

Jason,
You didn't steer me wrong! As happens with all best laid plans, we didn't quite get to do all we wished in such a short period of time. We did hit Sunset Grill where I had one of maybe my top three meals of 2006. My husband had the Voodoo Pasta about which he is still exclaiming.

One night we took a cab into town and hit the Broadway and Second St. scene. I, for the first time publicly, confess to a serious ribs jones. In seeking some authentic Nashville bones, we ate at Rippy's. Excellent dry rub ribs and pulled pork sandwiches. We had a blast in Nashville, and even though we aren't true C&W fans, you have to love them" Nashville cats playin' since they's babies..."

Thanks again for you recommendations!

Glad to hear you had a great time JB! I would say we missed you last night, but I wasn't there either.

Glad to hear it was a good time. It is a trip being in Nashville and walking into some random bar and seeing world class musicians.
