2010 Tegernseerhof 'Höhereck' Grüner Veltliner Smaragd
I contend this is potentially the best vintage ever for Grüner Veltliner from the Wachau region.
I've never seen before similar levels of precision, freshness, transparency and complexity in these wines.
This is a complete Grüner Veltliner in every regard, it's as good as this grape variety can get.
Multi-dimensional, pure and precise nose of sea salt, vegetables, chicken meat and clean yellow fruit.
Striking freshness. Both concentration and depth are amazing, the complex finish lasts about a minute.
I have to admit that I don't like Grüner Veltliner too much actually. But if it's that good I simply cannot resist ..
- My personal rating: 93+/100.
Cheers, Rainer
