2011 Azienda Agricola Cirelli Trebbiano d'Abruzzo
13,5% abv. Organic and "natural" but not orange; this wine is in the non-freaky end of the natural spectrum. This is wonderfully perfumed - all flowers and pure fruit and almost like a Viognier except brighter and more refreshing. This isn't high in acidity but it is wonderfully lively on the palate so it is not heavy though it is a fruit forward wine - but it is an exceptionally nice example of fruit forwardness and one that keeps my interest for the half bottle I drank tonight. It's hard to be critical of such words as "natural" when something like this is in the glass. Lovely.

2011 Azienda Agricola Cirelli Montepulciano d'Abruzzo
14,5% abv. A very primary aroma, all blueberry pie (but not oaky) and not really much else. Deeply tannic, voluptuous and fruity but in a tight corset. Nothing here would suggest a refreshing wine, yet even the scent IS refreshing. It is weird how such components make for a perfectly fun and harmonious drink, but I suppose on occasion this must happen. I thought this was lovely, though very young.
