My wife cooked up a sweet-n-sour wild rabbit tonight and I opened a Calera 2007 Central Coast Pinot Noir. The color was a light ruby almost bordering on a rose but the nose and palate were excellent Pinot Noir all the way. With abv of %14.6 this wine had great acidity and a wonderful cranberry and slight smokey flavor. The tannins were mostly resolved and the acidity was just a touch less than prickly. Discounted to $23, this lesser of the Calera line was very fine and I'll buy more when I can get up to Columbus if still available. For some unknown reason I am on a Cal. Pinot Noir kick right now. I also had recently a Paradiso 2009 Pinot Noir and a Fort Ross 2009 Sea Slope Pinot Noir that were both interesting especially the latter.

Nice to get Calera in the mid-$20s!
