Angelus or L'Angelus?

I was just reading about a claret making a comeback as a cameo in the new Bond film. This is good news as the Dom Perignon served too cold and the vodka martini shaken/not shaken have become Bond cliche.

Haven't seen the new film (can't wait, actually), but apparently Blondie Bondie likes an '82 Angelus.

Well as I prepare to get in the 007 mood, I dust off my tux and look online for a bottle of this St. Emilion red. I find it or something like it listed as Chateau Angelus and alternately, Chateau L'Angelus.

Are these the same wines?

I ask because when looking up wines online, often when bottles are listed as say, Margaux or Latour, they perhaps actually refer to second or lower tier labels. Is deception at play? I dunno.
I know my left from my right bank, but... maybe not so much my right bank. I do see references to "Clos de L'Angelus" and get a bit twisted in the head. At least I am up on my Bond trivia.

I'll keep reading up before giving up my credit card number to the ether, but if anyone cares to comment I'd appreciate it.

Angelus lost the l' with the 1990 vintage -- you can see the variety of labels by searching on angelus bordeux on the Google Image search engine.

First, welcome to WLDG, Randall. Hope you'll find this site as friendly and informative as I have. Ch. Angelus and Ch. L'Angelus are indeed the same. At one point (early '90s, IIRC), the producer decided to drop the "L' "--I believe I saw some explanation that buyers would usually look for it in listings under "A," but it was more frequently cited under "L." As for the "Clos de L'Angelus," I have no idea, but I might guess it's a "second wine" (i.e., made with lesser grapes, perhaps from younger wines or less-favored vineyard sites) from the same producer.

From the trailers and early reviews, "Royale" looks to be the Bond in decades.

Hey thanks for helping to clear that up. The label jpgs you linked from google weren't much good to me in this case. Couldn't tell if pre-1990 the label said "L'Angelus", but no matter.
In a wine shop I'd have no prob, obviously, but shopping online, which I do about 1/2 the time, presents the challenge of not seeing before you buy. Thanks to the replies here I am better informed. Excellent.

The Wine-Journal link had plenty of good stuff, though and I'll be scraping up some funds to get a bottle of Ch. Angelus (hopefully the '82) for an after-movie winddown. The vintage Bollinger may have to wait until the holidays...

I seem to recall Bond mentioning Bernkasteler Doktor in one of the movies, but couldn't find any specific info in a search. There's also the scene from "From Russia With Love" where the Russian spy is exposed after ordering Chianti with fish.

Not remotely related to Bond, yet somethat related to your mention of Fraiser are Kelsey Grammer and David Hyde Pierce on a Simpson's episode as Sideshow Bob and his brother Cecil. A new classic in celluloid wine discussion:

Cecil: Now make yourself at home. Perhaps a glass of Bordeaux? I have the '82 Chateau Latour and a rather indifferent Rausan.

Bob: I've been in prison, Cecil. I'll be happy just as long as it doesn't taste like orange drink fermented under a radiator.
