Carneros.

Sweet vanilla on the nose.

Quite rich and viscous in the mouth, good acidity, peppery, light lemon, with a sickly sweet vanilla-caramel dominating. Yuck.

A long finish dominated by pepper and tangy lemon.

I find far too many Califorinia Chardonnays disappointing because of an overuse of oak and an underuse of fruit. As I have said before, I rather like oak in my wine, but I want something with it, such as fruit, and I don't want the oak to dominate.
