WTN: 2001 Gunderloch Nackenheim Rothenberg Riesling Spätlese

Oh my, this is REALLY good.

Intensely ripe, sweet and floral with a core of rich peachy and tropical fruit over a mineral base; Auslese-like richness here but there's amazing acidity beneath that cuts through the sweetness and keeps it incredibly well balanced and precise. It works perfectly with a spicy cauliflower/green pea curry, and I wish I had more.

Hi Salil -

Thank you for the note. Sounds like a very nice wine - glad to hear that the acidity was in balance with the richness/sweetness.
