WTN: Cava Recaredo Brut Nature Gran Reserva 2007

50% Xarel-lo, 38% Macabeu, 12% Parellada. White gold. Very fine, persistent and vigorous bubbles. Body is medium (+). On the nose, lemon rind. This carries on to the palate with some green apple as well. Steely and very dry, showing a lot of minerality. Fresh and easy to drink with the acidity giving way to some creaminess on the finish. Good length. One of the better cavas using only traditional grapes. Expensive, though, for a cava, at about USD 47.

Hi Bob,

Yes, I was with Noel in 3 events recently, the cheese and wine tasting at Terry's, the final Asturias dinner, also at Terry's and the International Wine and Food Society Ladies Branch dinner. All were very enjoyable. Noel and I did differ on our preferences for the cheese, though. I recall he favored the blues while I thought the sharp cheeses were better.

We'll be together again this week for the International Wine and Food Society Manila Branch President's dinner. This should be good as it marks the 30th anniversary of the Society here and we're having Latour!
