JancisRobinson New Grape Book...

by TomHill » Mon Oct 01, 2012 7:55 pm

JancisRobinson has a new grape book coming out at the end of the month:
Amazon:WineGrapes

I was going to pre-order it a month ago. At $125, it's a bit expensive, but the Amazon price then was not quite as painful. When I went to order it today, the price had jumped to $175 ($110 on Amazon). Yoikes.....maybe I better rethink this.
I rely a lot on RobTebeau's FringeWine WebSite for information on lesser known grape varieties:
FringeWine

Today, I happened to read his blog entry/rant on EmeraldRiesling:
Rob:EmeraldRiesling

That sealed the deal for me. I ain't ordering now.

Thanks Tom! Interesting site and well-justified rant.

I have the book on pre-order.

I have read the rant but it seems to me that it is aimed at the online version of OCW that he subscribes to which, while having the accurate information, doesn't give the source of the info..

As it seems the new book will have the accurate information with 'the full story' and citations I don't understand your comment.

(later edit) - BTW thanks for the link to Rob Tebeau's site - I've sepnt all morning there rather than doing what I should be
