Although I rarely drink wines from Tuscany (this is probably the first bottle I've purchased in two years), it came highly recommended. 100% Sangiovese- miniscule yeilds, French barrel and French barrique. There's an immediate explosion of berry and plum fruit, but thankfully no pruney overripeness. The brown spices are of graham crackers and cinnamon bread. The wine is certainly low-maintenance and easy to love, it also shows some finesse and good overall balance. The tannins are fine-grained and satisfying. Score one for Tuscany! 13.5% alc. $39

Prost!
