WTN: 2009 Anthill Farms Syrah Sonoma Coast

by David M. Bueker » Wed Sep 26, 2012 7:36 am

Balanced, fruity and with notable elements of pepper and tar, this is very drinkable and fairly complex Syrah for a good price. I would love to see how it ages, but I have drunk up all my bottles already.

And just a general comment: I really enjoy cool climate California Syrah. I know the stuff is near impossible to sell, but I will keep buying it as long as I can. The fruit is fresh, there's plenty of pepperiness and then various other Syrah elements come out depending on the wine. I drink through the stuff so fast that I almost never get to see it age. More please!

I'm with you, David, and probably buy more Syrah than any other variety from CA these days. The problem that I have is that these producers have to be able to sell their product for less than I can buy Gonon or Texier or I lose interest.

2010 Anthill Farms Sonoma Coast Syrah just set me back a mere $18 a bottle!!!

I backed up the truck (as much as they would let me).
