In the mood for a Syrah w/ my pizza, so cracked:
1. PeayVnyd Syrah LaBruma Estate/SonomaCoast (13.4%; www.PeayVineyards.com) 2009: Very dark/near black color; very strong cracked black pepper/cold-climate Syrah/blackberry light smokey/toasty/Fr.oak some spicy/rosemary/pungent slight floral/lilacs lovely nose; rather tart/lean fairly tannic/structured very strong cracked black pepper/pungent/cold-climate Syrah/blackberry/peppery light toasty/smokey/oak slight herbal/rosemary/floral flavor; very long tannic/structured very strong cracked black pepper/cold-climate Syrah/blackberry/spicy/peppery some toasty/Fr.oak/smokey slight floral/lilacs finish; a lovely classic cold-climate Syrah that needs another 5-10 yrs yet. $48.00
