- 2008 Bannock Brae Pinot Noir Barrel Selection - New Zealand, South Island, Otago, Central Otago (9/5/2012)
Spicy, warm, edgy and tight. Lots of baking spices, clove, nutmeg. Deep acid and round purple fruit. This is quite an expansive wine and I'm guessing it has a fairly high alcohol content. Long tangy finish. This is racy, exciting, energetic. New world styled but not overly sweet or big. An interesting style. At NZ$23 (about US$18) this is a fantastic bargain for a pinot noir.

- 2009 Palliser Estate Pinot Noir - New Zealand, North Island, Wairarapa, Martinborough (9/2/2012)
Big dark lush fruit. A little pruney. Lots of dark coffee and dark acid. A full flavored wine strongly leaning to dark fruits. Probably needs some time in bottle.

- 2010 Mud House Wines Pinot Noir - New Zealand, South Island, Otago, Central Otago (8/29/2012)
Good grip with dense dark fruit. Bright acid with herbs and menthol. Simple, plain but nice. Very good for the price ($NZ 15, or about $US 12).
