I am going through my cellar, finding wines I shoulda, woulda coulda drunk but have not. MoCool got me motivated to go back and blog somewhat and I find myself looking for clues as to when to open my cellar. It is nice to see old friends (wldg and bottles) and some who simply have way more experience than I. (Does anyone know how to get the full name of the bottle on the subject?)
WTN:2003 Mas Foulaquier Coteaux du Languedoc Pic St. Loup l'Orphée 13.9% alcohol. Unfiltered. A QPR. The cork was in good shape but wine had crept up a quarter of the cork. The wine is purple. A fruit bomb hit my nose as I uncorked. I am not great with descriptors. The wine is big and fruity and even. The tannens are not too noticeable. From the Grenache and Syrah there is a bit of earth but mostly vanilla and fruit. It has a long finish and I only remember I did not pay much through a Washington State Internet supplier. Fun wine with steak on Sunday night and I suspect may have more time but why would you not open now! Complaints, a friend did not like the ending which I found fruity and ok. This wine is really easy to drink. I will not think twice when opening the second bottle.
