DO Toro
Bodegas Frutos Villar

100 per cent Tempranillo

Dark purple in the glass.

Fresh-crushed berry fruit, spicy on the nose.

Medium weight, very juicy, raspberry, currants, cherry, quite rich, good acidity, a light bitter bite, spicy, lightly floral.

Very drying, bitter, lightly mouth-stripping on the finish.

Grows more tannic with time. If I had more bottles, I would let them rest for a while.

A lot of wine for not a lot of money, which doesn't often happen in Ontario.

Purchased at $11.95 (Canadian).
