1996 Schloss Lieser Niederberg Helden Riesling Auslese

Schloss Lieser is one of my favourite Riesling producers.
Youthful color. In the beginning quite shy on the nose, becoming more expressive with airing and warming. Subtle aromas of creamy yellow fruit, honey, lemon rind, white blossoms and smoke. Its highly refreshing lemon-like acidity is already perceptible on the nose. Compact, sinewy, powerful and focused on the palate. There's plenty of luscious, well integrated acidity that makes you want to take another sip and another one and .. Classic, authentic and athletic Riesling that will probably require another 10 years to open up. - My personal rating: 91+/100.
