WTN 2001 Ingleside Plantation Petite Verdot

This tasting note is probably useless to this board being from an 11 year old wine from a Virginia winery that I don't think gets much sales outside the region, if the immediate area. I bought this at the tasting room upon release. It tasted great at the winery so I bought three. The first two I opened reasonable soon after purchase and both had that Welch's grape juice taste on day one. It took until day two to really show its class. So I sit on the final bottle for almost ten years. PNP and serve the first taste blind to my wife whose only response is that it's too young.

Medium ruby color w/o any noticeable bricking
Nose of something between Vicks cherry cough drops and that Welch's grape juice of before.
Medium weight. Lots of acidity, cherry flavor and some eucalyptus on the finish but still basically primary and lacking much secondary.

Not a bad wine but it seems to have evolved so slowly that I wonder how long I would have to wait for this wine to show what I still think its capable of delivering. I guess I will never know.
