Well, relatively cheap, as they sell for about $19 here.

2011 Pequie Terrasses Cotes du Ventoux - medium colour, nothing special in the nose - the usual simple fruit in the mouth, soft and medium length. Meh...

2009 Jaboulet Parallel 45 CduR - totally different ballgame here. Good peppery nose, darker colour, good fruit levels and lots of soft tannin. While it is not a 1995 or 1998 (both of which improved and lasted for many years), it is a very pleasant wine and will age well in the medium term. Now if we could only buy it for the $8-10 US price (they are still making us suffer for our sinful pursuits up here).

Sorry to hear the Pesquie 2011 was not good. That is one of my regular case purchases, and it almost always over-delivers. But i may skip 2011, or at least try a bottle first. Thanks for the note.

Been a long time since I had a good Parallel 45. May have to try one again. I need some "cheap" red wine.

I usually like Pesquie Terrasses. Was 2011 a poor year for them?

Domaine de la Presidente Cotes du Rhone Rouge - $9.99. Maybe the best $10 bottle of wine I had in years.

The wine is adequate, just don't taste it against the Parallel 45!
