One of the finest bottles of wine I've ever had was a '74 Raymond that my wife and I enjoyed when her brother brought us back a bottle from CA in '78. This 2008 had some unusual packaging. Instead of a back label, there is a booklet taped in place, that gives the bois of seven sommoliers who helped decide the final blend, which consists of 72% Napa, 25% Sonoma and 3% Lake Counties. Deep clear red, no blue, no brown. Generous nose of red fruit with oak taking a back seat. Full, long finish with soft tannins. A very pleasant wine that went well with pan-seared rib eyes.
Chico - Hey! This Bottle is empty!
Groucho - That's because it's dry Champagne.
