WTN: 2010 Porter Creek Carrignane

"Old Vine" Russian River fruit. Soft, smooth palate...could swear this is done through carbonic maceration, but I don't know...it just has that "texture". Bright, soft red berry fruit with nice herbal notes.

Porter Creek is one of my favorite smaller wineries, and this went very well with MEXICAN food, of all things!

Also: After dodging a police crime scene (a shooting in mid-day on Mandela Parkway  :( ) I revisted the AWESOME Dashe Cellars. What stood out this time was the delicious 2011 Grenache, which had wonderful fruit and a delicious earthy-strawberry-herbal character I always associate with the Rhone.
