WTN: Pichon Baron and Grand Puy Lacoste

by Jenise » Sat Aug 11, 2012 2:36 pm

Can't remember if I posted a follow up to my first note, wherein the first bottles from our stash of 1998 Grand Puy Lacostes was unexpectedly vapid and OTH-ish. A second bottle was very different and everything we had hoped it would be.

Last night we opened a '94 Pichon Baron. Fantastic! It's in peak condition, and though I would expect this prime drinking window to last awhile, I might be hard-pressed to top myself from motoring right through the other two or three bottles I have. Kudos to whoever on this board pointed to this wine way back when as a standout for the vintage; I took it to heart and went shopping. Great advice!
My wine shopping and I have never had a problem. Just a perpetual race between the bankruptcy court and Hell.--Rogov
