WTN: La Lagune 1990

1990 Château La Lagune (France, Bordeaux, Médoc, Haut-Médoc)
A lovely wine, smooth and delicate with lots of mineral and iron. Nicely mellowed with a long drying finish. Tobacco, earth, herb, red fruit. I think this wine has lost some of its sweet fruit so I'd drink sooner than later, but it's not falling off a cliff. Drinking nicely now. full of class.

If only I'd understood how much I was going to love Bordeaux back in the mid-90's when I had access to a whole warehouse of brilliant 86's, 89's and 90's at original release prices--had I, I'd be writing notes like this. :)
My wine shopping and I have never had a problem. Just a perpetual race between the bankruptcy court and Hell.--Rogov

I drank my last '90 a few years ago. I always liked the '90 a little more than the '89 but both were very fine. Oh to be able to get wines like these for $22/btl again.

This one cost me $85 to buy...and $30 to ship to New Zealand!
