WTNs: Brun L'Ancien '09-'11

by Saina » Fri Jul 13, 2012 3:34 pm

'09: fat, more so than I remembered, not so easy to drink in quantity.

'10: lovely, crisp and bright, moreish: I can finish a bottle on my own.

'11: some fat, not as bad as the '09 since it has better acidity, moderately moreish: easy to share a bottle and still feel a bit thirsty, not quite so moreish that I could drink a whole bottle on my own.

'09 was under plastic stopper so I wouldn't age; '10-'11 both seem painfully young and show better the next day. I need to drink more of these but I think I really love these wines, even in the moderately fat years. Brun might just be the most consistently wonderful, cheap wines available.

Thanks Otto. Did the '10 and '11 have real or fake corks?

The best thing about these wines after the way they taste is the price! Great QPR!
