Dinner at a steak house with business companions. The Brocquel was a reasonable option on an otherwise incredibly dreary list of choices. Overall it was quite good, as I expected it to be. I've had various vintages of the wine and always liked it, even if it hasn't been in my normally favored style. Rich fruit and some wood spice are the calling cards, and the wine is balanced from start to finish. It's rich and a bit of a one note song, but tasty with a steak and a crowd pleaser without being goopy.
