I loved this vintage a couple of years ago, so when they showed me two lone bottles that had appeared from somewhere, I jumped on one!
Extremely pure, piercing "cabosity" with black cherry, anise, leather, tobacco. Smooth tannins almost a silky mouthfeel. Utterly delicious with rare lamb and garlic mashers! Totally yum! The 2004 tasted at the winery was pretty darn nice, as well...AND...the 2009 looks like it will be a prime vintage for Signorello in their trademark anise and leather profile!
I actually prefer the Signorello "basic" Napa Valley cabs to their more expensive reserve "Padrone" bottlings. Maybe with greater bottle age, the Padrones come into their own.
