We have found common ground; as far as I am concerned, we need not just a third but a fourth and fifth party. The two-party system has finally proven itself to have been a major mistake for so-called democracy.

He may be moderate but he blows with the wind. What change is he talking about? He's been there through the mess. In my view, a few Dems should have been voted out too--by more real Independents.

I disagree. Since he ran for VP he has been about as useful as the common cold. He searches for the majority on virtually every issue and then grabs on for dear life. He's not moderate, just malleable.

I doubt there will be much change at all. The Democrats will control the House. Even if they get the 2 Senate seats?..neither areas will have enough of majority to get anything done. Except that the public perception will be that the Democrats won and therefor must share the blame if something goes wrong.

And then there is that presidential Veto from a president who has nothing to lose by using it.

Just more of the same old gridlock...and BS.

I just wish the Libertarian Party could get their sh** together and field some decent candidates. Instead of these wackos they seem to come up with.

In response to the two party frustration, I fully understand and agree. As an outsider though, we don't even hear of US independants or other parties (well not since that guy with all the money and a dislike of facial hair tried to invent a party and run for president). It's good for us to hear of them.

Over here as well as the liberals; there's the splinter right wing independance party (mainly seeking to get out of EU); the green party; smaller splinter groups & independants off the main parties, including an ex-newsreader who stood as an anti-goverment sleaze candidate and of course the monster raving loony party (and comically also splinter groups from the original ).
