Anthill Farms Demuth '09 (Anderson Valley Pinot Noir) 13.3%
Beautiful violet in the glass with a nose of red fruits (especially cherry) and cinnamon. Nice mouthfeel, though also delicate in a good way, and at times bordering on thin (slightly less good). At first fruit was in the foreground, and with the cinnamon showed as California, without being either jammy or stewed. Later more acidity, accompanied by a strong streak of raspberry (and kirsch) and a long. finish.
Overall a lovely wine. This is the first of their 09's I have tried. t is complex, balanced, subtle and already drinking well. It could have a little more weight without veering over into the steroidal Cali Pinot category, but all in all a treat and worth its price (around $45, if I remember right).
