Tried ystrday w/ JohnBalagna:
1. Masseria LiVeli Verdeca IGT: Valle d'Itria (13%; www.LiVeli.It) Cellino SanMarco/Apulia 2011: Light gold color; strong apple/pear/Marsanne-like some briney/earthy quite pleasant nose; soft fairly strong appley/pear somewhat earthy bit saline/briney flavor; med.long earthy/chalky/saline somewhat apple/pear finish; a pleasant little white much like a Cotes du Rhone Marrsanne; clean and well-made; a pleasant little white but just that, nothing particularly compelling that would make me want to revisit it. $21.00 (KK)

And a wee BloodyPulpit:
1. Verdeca: A grape of Greek origins, but now grown primarily in Apulia. Don't recall ever having an Apulian white before. If so, they easily forgetable. Verdeca is supposed to make a tart wine w/ little character and primarily used in vermouth production. I thought this was much more than that and much better a white than I'd expect from Puglia. A DellaTerra/BrianLarkey import.
